Another priority for
Fostering Success is increasing public awareness of the issue of
foster youth transitioning to adulthood.
TYAC has an active
speakers bureau and are quoted frequently in the news media about
foster care issues.
TYAC members were
featured in a thirty minute PBS documentary called “Avenues of
Hope,” which focused on youth aging out of foster care in Tennessee.
Our youth co-sponsored a conference on permanency with the North
American Council on Adoptable Children and co-sponsored the
Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth’s Child Advocacy Days.
